













Zdrazil makes makes a variety of wheel-thrown, hand-built and slip-cast ceramic objects. His work is a fusion of traditional and contemporary pottery styles from the East and West; it is often wood fired and makes use of locally found materials. His work has been exhibited internationally and is found in many international publications. Since building his first wood fired kiln in 2001, he has designed and built several unique kilns including hybrid and hydrogen fueled kilns. He has presented at the National Council on Education for Ceramic Arts in the U.S. and at international conferences in France, Australia, Germany and Denmark.
Originally from St. Croix County Wisconsin, Zdrazil studied art at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire and went on to earn his M.F.A. at the University of North Texas. He has taught at several institutions in addition to giving guest lectures, workshops and consultation related to ceramics and kiln building. He moved to Eureka CA in 2007, where he is an Associate Faculty member at College of the Redwoods and shares a home studio with his wife Shannon Sullivan.
